This past Sunday, we gathered at Panorama Ten to Two in Inyamirambo Kuryanyuma for an inspiring dialogue on "Pan-Africanism," led by Dr. Rusa Bagirishya.
Federation in East Africa: Dr. Bagirishya emphasized the importance of pursuing a federation in East Africa, drawing parallels to the ongoing efforts in the Sahel region with countries like Mali and Burkina Faso.
Awareness of African History: He pointed out that many Africans are not fully aware of the truth about their history and the broader scope of Pan-Africanism. Suggestions were made for attending courses in native languages to gain a deeper understanding and empower participants to educate others.
Pan-Africanism as an Ideology: Responding to questions about the role of force in achieving Pan-Africanism, Dr. Bagirishya clarified that it is primarily an ideology aimed at uniting Africans through the power of ideas, rather than through violence. He emphasized that the goal is to promote a set of ideas and values that inspire positive change across the continent.
Dr. Bagirishya reiterated that our integration and collaborative solutions are vital for fostering African unity and bringing about meaningful change. Thank you to all participants for engaging in this important dialogue!
We are excited to announce that we will host another program like this next week.
